So I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista, and my cherished USB adapter card is now an unknown device. "Troubleshooting" the device in Windows 7 encounters an error. And check this pic out for some pure Microsoft brand (TM) wackiness: z13.invisionfree.com/admiralhowdy/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=9411851I tried the pinned universal driver, rebooted, and I get a "Driver installation failed" message upon reboot. Any help in getting my USB adapter working on Windows 7 will be GREATLY appreciated.

For 32bit windows (include XP / Vista / Win 7), the "driver signature" doesn't matter at all. You don't need to use the "driver signature enforcement overrider" to "sign" the driver. I am not sure about your case. You may un-install the driver from "device manager". (remember to click "delete the file from system") And then, reboot, and re-install the driver. During the installation, you may try both "install the driver from the specific location" and "have disk" method. note : 1. If it doesn't work, try another USB port. 2. You MUST reboot after the installation. If you cannot get it to work finally, you may download this driver and see if it work. www.hkems.com/files/EMSlink/EMSLink_v3.1.0.2010_modded.zipThanks (10-137)

I already tried the modded driver I saw there, and it doesn't help either. When I try the "have disk" method, I get this message: z13.invisionfree.com/admiralhowdy/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=9412234Sounds like I'm s.o.l. after I try the other usb ports. This is the second thing that my Windows 7 upgrade has ruined for me, 1st being it turned my Roxio video capture software into an expired "trial version", and I can't seem to fix that either.

I am sorry I don't have any good idea for this case. You may test it with another PC (preferable newly installed PC) and see if it is the problem of the adaptor itself.
