Hi! I have the same problem as Miles, but only with time crisis series on ps2. I have tried few other games and also games on pc work fine. Is there any compatibility issue with Namco games?

It's ok now all I had to do is switch game to 2-point calibration mode, but after that there is a strange delay when shooting and is there any way to solve the problem with machine gun in time crisis 3? Thanks

What do you mean by 2-point calibration mode ?
There should not be any delay for the game Time Crisis 3 or other Namco gun shooting games.
For your case, how long is the delay ? Your case is quite strange, please decribe in details. Thanks.

Ok In time crisis when calibration screen appears you have to press c button and trigger simultaneously to switch to two point calibration mode. About the delay it is less than a second, here is a part of review from ign which explains rest of the problems "An even bigger problem in Time Crisis III was the fact that there was some sort of sync issue between the gun and the game. Crisis Zone is based upon machine guns in full auto, while the TopGun naturally shoots single shots. We switched the gun to full auto mode and blazed away. Strangely, though keeping the TopGun's trigger held down emptied the 40 round clip without a pause, the game only seemed to register hits about 25% of the time, spaced apart about equally to the TopGun's recoil action. Setting the gun to single-shot action made every bullet connect, but we couldn't pull the trigger fast enough to work with the machinegun mechanic that the game is based upon. We didn't manage to solve the mystery, which left the game somewhat unplayable"

If the game itself has auto fire function (e.g. when you are using a machine gun in Time Crsis 3 or Crsis Zone), you should not set the Turbo switch (2-1-0) to 1 nor 2. It is meaningless.
Turbo switch - 0 - Normal mode
Turbo switch - 1 - Auto fire
Turbo switch - 2 - Auto fire + Auto reload - Auto reload function only workable in Time Crsis 2.
Thanks ;D

Hi. I have an strange problem with the gun and some PS2 games (well, actually it affets all I have tested but it changes the "amount"). It is a precision problem. It seems that when I shoot near the center of the calibrated screen there is no problem, but when I start to shoot more to down or to up and when more and more I shoot getting to that sides the precision less accurate is the shoot. It is really weird as the problem is worst on Time Crisis games and less noticeable in Vampire Night but in House of the Dead 2 and 3 on Xbox doesn't exist such problem. Also It is really strange as if I calibrate the Gun using only upper half of the screen the precision is 100% perfect on that games (but I only can shoot half the screen). I am using a projector, and tried to use bigger and smaller screen size and more or less distance from it with no luck, but what i don't understand is why only it happens on PS2 games. Any trick or possible solution. Greetings, - Jeslan - P.D.: Oh, I forgot to thank you all for creating such an amazing gun. I love it.

Well, during the calibration, you may shoot a bit inside the screen and try again

Hey all, I just got 2 of these fantastic guns (by the look of it) and I can't get them to work... !! Got everything set up, installed\uinstalled\reinstalled several different drivers over a few hours... the gun turns on, recoils, etc... the led on the bars light up... the buttons work... However... Calibrating it does NOT work!! Hold A+B, LED turns on, I aim it at the top-left side set of TV at infrared group... nothing... shoot everywhere... nothing... The LED still just stays lit, no recoil, no calibrate, no games... Please, someone help or I'll be stuck with these 2 expensive laser pointers! EDIT: Okay, I plugged the LCD bars into the lightgun's power slot (female) and the lightgun's other power slot (male) I plugged into the Y-connector and plugged that into the second USB port. Basically, the gun plugged into 2 USB ports and the bars are plugged into the gun. NOW the gun recognizes it's being pointed at the screen (Laser turns on and off as I point at the screen and away) but calibrating still does nothing!! ARGG!!!

Hey stumperific Please note the followings: 1. The switch (X/P) is at "P". (P for PC/PS2/PS3, X for Xbox) 2. The red LED on the LED bar is ON. (which indicate power ON) I recommend you to install Smog's GunCon2PC driver : xoomer.alice.it/guncon2/Please un-install every TopGun driver before installing the above GunCon2PC driver. 3. Go to device manager, see if you could find the TopGun there. (for GunCon2PC driver, you could find "GunCon2 device" in the device manager) 4. After you have isntalled the GunCon2PC driver, the PC would recognize the gun as mouse. Please check if one of buttons is recognized as "mouse left click". (should be the trigger as I remember) In case (3) and (4) have no problem, the software and the hardware should be OK. You could then follow the steps below to calibrate the gun : I. stand back such that the distance between the gun and the screen is 2-3 times of the distance between the LED stands. II. aim the gun at the screen, the laser pointer should turn ON. Aim the gun off the screen (e.g. floor), the laser pointer should turn OFF. III. Aim the gun every point of the screen and LED stands. If the laser pointer keeps solid red, it's OK. If it flash or turn off, there may be some interruption sources near where you are aimming at. Note : Sun light (even very dim) is a great interruption source. Other light could also be a possible interruption source. IV. In case you don't have problem in III, the environment is OK. You could then hold A+B and calibrate your gun. Please check every of the above points carefully. If it still doesn't work, please tell us the remarks of the above mentioned points in details. Good luck ;D

Hey, thanks!
Now I've got 1 working as a mouse (not 2 yet :-( ...) However, getting them to work with several versions of MAME I tried is getting to be a problem. Meh, still though, it works with all the other games! Thanks!

Well, if you could use both gun to move the same mouse pointer, that means installation success. Now, please follow the guide below to config your MAME. www.hkems.com/temp/MAME%20multiple%20TopGun%20setup.pdfIf you would like to play the following PC game / emulator, please also install the following program. Please see the instruction in their website. Hello,
I cannot get either one of my topguns to work. I have a ps2, and a 51 inch tv. I have tried shutting everything off in my house except the tv console, and led bars. It does not seem to recognize the gun(s) at all. I have tried moving in closer, and moving further back (bout 20 feet max back). I have moved the led bars horizontal, and even inside the screen just trying to get some kind of outcome with no avail. I bought two guns so I tried switching light bars.
I then took them to my 29 inch tv, and had the same problem. I had everything turned off except what was needed to play.
I also tried looking for the LED's on my camera phone with no avail, but I find it very unlikely that both bars on two seperate guns are broken. The guns recoil in normal mode, but do not register anything. When I change to calibration mode nothing happens at all...Tried calibrating in order, and shooting wherever to get some results.
please help me. I realy want to run these games on my big screen.

Well, we have received your email. According to your reply in email, the problem is not likely related to the guns / bars. It should be caused by background interruption. For your case, please take a photo of your screen (include the backgroud environment) and send to us, and we may able to find out what's the interruption source. By the way, please do the following test: 1. Turn ON your ps2, load the gun shooting game. 2. connect the gun correctly to PS2. 3. place the LED bars on the floor. The distance between the two stands is around 30cm. 4. Make sure the gun is NOT in calibration mode. 5. Make sure that the distance between the gun and the floor is 1m or higher in the steps below. 6. Turn ON the laser pointer switch, aim the gun over the place between the two stands. The laser pointer should light during this. 7. When the laser pointer light (e.g. aim the TopGun around the middle between the two stands), press the trigger and see the game could recognize the shot. note: in step 7, you should test the gun in real game play, not in calibration screen nor game menu. Normally there should be no interruption comes from the floor, that's why I tell you to place the LED stands on the floor to test the gun. If the above test success, that means your guns works, and the interruption is the problem. Please kindly test it and tell us the result by email. I could help you more efficiently by email. Thanks

Hi, I am interested in the LCD topgun .
But I am not interested in it for the PS2/PS3/PC/XBOX
I was wondering if this device will work with the total control plus to be used on a dreamcast .
That is the only use i would have for the Lightgun
thanks in advance
