I bought this EMS USB II product a while ago from Lik-Sang (before they closed down) for use with my PC. I have tried Dance Mat and Negcon on PC, with no problems.
However, official Sony PSone controllers simply will not function properly when connected to PC. When connected, they appear as normal, but when in the joypad options window, it will randomly 'flash', and when this happens, the controller does not respond at all for approximately one second and the analog displays both go to the bottom right corner when this happens.
Note that I am using OFFICIAL Sony branded PSone controllers, and not any third party control.
I have been able to test it with some PS2 controllers recently thanks to a friend (I do not have any PS2 or controllers myself) and both official Sony and third party PS2 controllers function perfectly with the device.
This has been tested on both Windows 98 and XP and I have tried all the versions of drivers on this site from v2.1 to 3.0 and all versions of the driver exhibit the same problem.
It appears that the USB device is working properly, as Dance Mat, Negcon and PS2 controllers all work perfectly with this device, but no PSone controllers work, not even official Sony PSone controller. It appears as if the problem resides with the drivers.
Could this driver be examined and rectified if possible. I do not want to have to spend extra to buy a PS2 control if this problem can be rectified.

Hello ;D
Please test in windows XP, un-isntall every EMS USB2 driver, and see if the joypad is detected by PC.
Please inform us your test result. Thanks.

I have uninstalled driver and EMS device still appears. However, same problems occur - PS2 pad works, but PSone pad loses repsonse for a second at random intervals as above.
Does this mean that the EMS unit does not work with PSone pad?

Our EMS USB2 works perfectly for all official PS joypads. (include normal joypad and Dual Shock 1) So, is your joypad the normal joypad (without the analog sticks) or Dual Shock 1 ? As your PS2 joypad works with the EMS USB2, we could confirm that your EMS USB2 is fully functional. Also, we are sure that it is not a driver problem. For your case, there are two possible cause: 1. Your PS joypad has problem. Please check the pins of the port are ok, and no pin is shorter then others. Also, please check if the PS joypad works on PS/PS2 console. 2. If you are using a normal PS joypad, please ignore this. If you are using a Dual Shock 1, it is possible that it is not an official joypad. Those fake official joypads are apparently identical to the real one. They works very well with PS/PS2 console, but they may not able to works on computers as they draw too much electricity (around 7V) while USB port could only provide 5V max. (PS/PS2 console could provide 7V) Please double check
