I just received my EMS 2 USB adapter. Thank-you for the quick shipment. I am trying to use it with my Windows XP system and a Mad Catz Beat Pad Pro dance pad but none of the buttons on the dance pad will work at all. I know the dance pad works because it works fine with my PS2.
To install the EMS 2, I first ran the EXE that came on the installation Disk. It is version 3.0. The installation program reported that installation was successful without any errors.
I plugged the pad into the Game Controller port on the EMS 2, set the switch on the side of the unit to PC and then plugged the EMS 2 USB cable into my computer. The red light on the top of the unit came on solid.
Windows XP reported that it found the new hardware and installed it successfully.
There are four LEDs on my dance pad. None of them are lit, and none of the buttons on the dance pad will work.
I went to Accessories, Game Controllers, and can see two installed game controllers, they are labeled "4 axis 16 button joystick" and both report status OK.
When I select Properties, I see the General tab and it is blank. I believe it should show my dance pad buttons. The Type field here reports Auto. I have tried setting Type to Dance, but this does not have any effect. On the Setting tab, I have tried all combinations of the Mode and Digital Pad settings, but none have any effect.
At the bottom of the window Joypad is selected.
I have also tried rebooting, and tried holding down Select, Start and Up together for 3 seconds but this does not have any effect.
Should this be working? If so, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks, -Ken

Hello Ken You did nothing wrong, everything was set up correctly. You may test the EMS USB2 with an sony official PSX joypad and see if it is workable. If it is workable, that means your Mad Catz dance pad doesn't compatible with our EMS USB2. Please note that some of those 3rd party dance pad may take too much electricity (over 5V) such that the USB port could not provide enough electricity. (USB port could only provide 5V maxium while PS2 could provide up to 7.5V) Our EMS USB2 is guarantee to support official controllers, and it could support most of those 3rd party controllers. Thanks.
