I just installed the program for the 64 MB USB GC Memory Card and everytime I try to transfer a savefile (via Restore Saver) or List Savers, the program freezes up and I have to shut down my PC to get the program to close. I have Windows XP for the operating system. Why does it keep freezing-up on me?
Please follow the guide below to test your GC 64M USB memory adaptor. 1. Connect the GC 64M USB memory adaptor to PC. 2. right click "my computer", select "property" --> "hardware" --> "device manager". 3. In the device manager, check if you could find the "EMS inter link cable" under the USB devices. Make sure that there is no interjection mark nor question mark beside it. 4. open the program, see if there is a USB logo displayed on the program interface. 5. Click "list savers".
Please tell us the result in steps 3, 4 and 5. Thanks.
Sorry for taking so long to reply back. I almost gave-up on it when I started getting Fatal Errors on one of my PCs (during the USB memory card installation). I followed those instructions you posted, but everything checks out okay in Device Manager. On my 1st Windows XP PC, I get a memory address error message (and sometimes an error about the pic file already being accessed) every time I try to run the program. On my 2nd Windows XP PC, the PC crashes and gets a Fatal Error whenever I try to install the USB memory card. BTW, I'm using the newest version of the program (ver. 2.1). Why isn't it working with either of my PCs? Please let me know about this.
So, you could not install the driver in both of your computers ?
Could you use the card in GC ?
Normally, if the adaptor has problem, the computer would simply could not recognize it at all. (it would find an unknown USB device instead). For your case, may be the windows itself is not stable.
You may try with the 3rd computer so as to locate the problem. If you finally could not get it to work, you may consider send it back to us. We provide free repair / replace services for our products, and you just need to pay for the postage.
