Thanks!! That solved my problem right away. I placed the led stands on top and on the bottom. Putting them on the sides instantly solved it!! Thanks again!! Kaziebo, are you placing the LED stands on the left and right of the screen ?

I'm using 2 EMS Topgun controllers to play MAME-based arcade shooting games.
Calibration worked fine once I figured out I needed to correct for the overscan on my TV. Both guns control the Windows mouse cursor.
In MAME, I've turned Multimouse ON, and turned mouse input on too.
But - when I play a game in the latest version of MAMEUI or the MAME Command-Line version, MAME detects the 2nd gun (when I use -verbose as a command line option), but when I move it, it detects the movement as the FIRST light gun.
Has anyone encountered anything like this? The EMS drivers don't seem to say much about configuring multiple light-guns.

Please un-install the EMS TopGun driver v3.2, and install Smog's GunCon2PC driver. (official site : xoomer.alice.it/guncon2)After that, please follow the guide below to configure the MAME. www.hkems.com/temp/MAME multiple TopGun setup(eng).pdf After that, you should able to use two guns in MAME. Thanks.

This has already been done.
However, there MAY be an issue unrelated to the EMS TopGin - it's possible that Windows 2000 may not support multiple-mice in MAME.

I don't think it is related to windows 2000. You may test with another version of MAME.

I've tested with the current version (command-line), 0.116 (command-line), the current version of MAMEUI 32 and a slightly older version of MAMEUIFX.

I've just received my EMS TopGun for my PS2 but I can't get the gun into calibration mode.
- Button is on P - The bars are in the correct position next to the screen - The pointer works on some parts of the screen
When I hold down A+B, nothing happens, not even when I hold them for 30 seconds. Both the gun and the bars are connected to the PS2 usb ports.
Please help me, I really want to use this gun

KiLLa, please check the followings:
1. The gun supports GunCon2 compatible games only, such as Time Crisis 2 and 3. 2. you should load the game first before you plug the game into PS2.
If you still could not get it to work, please send an email to us. (sales@hkems.com)
Thanks.

It works now but sadly enough I have to stand more than 3 meters away from my 22 inch screen and it's inpossible because the room is too small. The manual says that it's less than 3 meters but than it doesn't work

You may mount the LED stands above and below your screen according to the manual. For this setup, the gun could be locate closer to the screen. Please note that the distance between the gun and the screen should be around 2-3 times of that between the two LED stands. By the way, for this setup, you should calibrate the gun according to the manual. Thanks

On PS3, you should set the switch (X/P) below the handle to "P". And you should load the game first before you plug the gun to PS3. Also, please make sure that the game is a GunCon2 compatible. GunCon or GunCon3 compatible games are not supported by TopGun. Thanks
