My trio linker doesn't seem to work correctly. I get some response from the controller in the properties page, but my properties don't look anything like the pictures with the product, and the functionality is very strange/random.
Here is what I did. I just received a trio linker plus, and installed the driver disk (v3.9) onto my windows x64 machine. I then plugged the trio linker into a USB port. Windows detected and installed 2 things under "Human Interface Devices". They are "HID-compliant game controller" and "USB Human Interface Device". I then plug in my Gamecube controller (tried Official Nintendo brand, and MadCatz brand), and have also tried the other way (GC into linker first, then linker into PC).
If I open "game controllers" I do see "Joypad to USB converter" when a controller is inserted, but if I hit properties, I only see "Axes" and "Buttons" with no picture as is shown. The tabs and options referenced in the readme/instructions just aren't there. When I move sticks, press buttons, I get some response on the test page but it doesn't seem like the axis are mapped correctly and it seems to use buttons 13->16 with 5/6 stuck on.
It appears as though the custom driver isn't loaded and that windows is using some sort of default driver. I have tried v.3.6 also (it is listed as the first with x64 support) and it is the very same. I don't get any error messages, I just looks like the driver didn't install.
A Follow-up. I tried the linker on a friends computer with win XP. The behavior is correct on his computer, and the driver functions normally as it is shown in manual. So it seems to definately be a driver not working with x64 problem. It just doesn't seem to load (or use) the custom driver in x64 although the install says everything worked correctly.
