I have been using my trio linker with my windows XP laptop, but have recently wanted to use it with my windows 2000 computer.
I install the driver in windows 2000 and the Trio Linker is detected (Appears in my list of devices I can eject). It just doesn't translate into being a game controller.
When I check my game input devices in the control panel I see nothing. I plugged it back in to my windows XP system to verify that it was functioning correctly (it was).
I tried my Trio Linker in a different windows 2000 machine that had just finished being installed. It had the same problem.
I have tried various driver versions from 3.6 on up to the most recent. None of them have helped.
Has the Trio Linker recently been tested on windows 2000?
I would prefer not to have to buy a windows XP Home upgrade to get this working.
As a matter of further background, I have installed the Microsoft DDK, Visual Studio 2005, and other Microsoft development utilities. I mention it just in case there are known issues with having those tools installed ( I haven't compiled any driver files though I do have the DDK).

Hello Shaun Our Trio Linker plus has been tested in the windows 2000 (sp4) without problem. It doesn't has any problem with Microsoft DDK, Visual Studio 2005, and other Microsoft development utilities. For your case, please follow the steps below to solve the problem. 1. Download and Install the latest Trio Linker Plus driver : www.hkems.com/files/Trio%20Linker%20V3.9.exe2. plug in your Trio Linker Plus 3. enter the device manager (right click "my computer", select "property"--> "hardware" --> "device manager") 4. In the device manager, if you could only find the "unknown USB device" instead of "Trio Linker Plus / USB to joypad converter", please right click the unknown device and un-install it. 5. In the device manager, please press F5 to refresh. After that, your computer should able to recognize the Trio Linker Plus. Thanks.

I'm not sure what my problem is. In the device manager tree view my adapter is under "Game controller adapters" Its name is "EMS-USB3 Adapter".
Your last post indicated that it should be called "Trio Linker Plus / USB to joypad converter".
Which name is the correct device name?
Do I have an incorrect driver somewhere? The first driver I installed was the one that came on the disk in my Trio Linker Package.
If I installed the first time with the wrong driver how do I clean it up so the right driver will work?

I forgot to mention that even though a driver is found with a somewhat correct name (EMS-USB3 Adapter) and placed in the correct location in the device manager; I still never get an actual joystick device when I plug things into my trio linker.
I have tried my Cobalt Flux dance pad as well as a gamecube controller.

Sorry, was some mistake in my last post. I just double check in Windows 2k (sp4), after installed the driver and plug in the Trio Linker, you should able to find the "HID compliant game controller" under the "Human Interface devces" in the "device manager. In "Control panel-->game options", you could find "Joypad to USB converter". In case your PC could not recognize the Trio Linker, you would find the "unknown USB device" under the "USB" in the "device manager" instead. For your case, it is not related to the driver, as the Trio Linker could work without the driver (PC will load the windows default joypad driver instead). Please check the following and tell me the result. Thanks 1. Could you find the "Joypad to USB converter" in the "control panel --> game option". 2. Does the Trio Linker interface (control panel -->game option--> joypad to USB converter --> property) response to your nintendo official GC normal joypad.

Does the Trio Linker interface (control panel -->game option--> joypad to USB converter --> property) response to your nintendo official GC normal joypad. The Joypad to USB converter never shows up. This was the point of my original posting. I have never gotten anything to show up in the Gaming Options Game Controllers List. I tried the USB HID driver in windows in place of the trio linker driver, but that doesn't seem to work either. I have ordered an EMS USB2 to see if it will work better with windows 2000. I do not know what can be done to make this work at this point. I have installed and uninstalled various drivers. I simply can't get my Trio Linker to run on windows 2000. I was having a similar problem with another windows 2000 machine I had just installed. I do not believe that your windows 2000 support is properly working. Are there any differences between US versions of windows 2000 and international versions of windows 2000? Could this be a problem?

Our Trio Linker works without driver. Even you haven't installed the driver, you should able to find the "joypad to USB converter" in the "control panel --> game option". Therefore it would not be the problem of the driver.
If the Trio Linker still works on your windows XP laptop, the problem will be either caused by the USB port or the windows of your PC.
For your case, use an USB hubs or re-install the windows may help.
Q: I do not believe that your windows 2000 support is properly working. A: I am sure that our Trio Linker doesn't has win2000 compatible problem. We have received a few similar reports before, but they are mostly caused by the windows / USB port probem, while the others (several) are caused by the faulty of the product itself. For those faulty products, we have sent those customers free replacements, and those problems are solved.
Q: Are there any differences between US versions of windows 2000 and international versions of windows 2000? Could this be a problem? A: Ahought I haven'y tried them yet, I don't think there are any differences between this two versions.
