Hello,
I recently purchased 2 TopGun 2's and I've got a problem with one of them.
When I first plugged it in it would be recognized as an "unknown device" in the USB controllers category of (device manager). Then I plugged in the other one and got the correct situation (i.e. yellow question mark and possibility to assign drivers to the device) - and afterwards plugged back the first one in.
And surprise it worked .. for a few minutes or so, before it stopped (in the middle of a game) - so I quit the game, check everything and it had reverted to "unknown device" again.
Plugged and unplugged it over 50 times since then and haven't seen it go back to the normal state yet (in terms of USB, the rest is working fine as I can calibrate and all - pointless tho).
Also, your spell checker didn't actually go to school did he ? (no kidding it's off by a mile, didn't wanna hear about "afterwards" -- )

have two lcd topgun #508(0902) but chenged to win7 64bits. As I understand, no way to make it work in win7 64, and no plains to make a driver... So, must I throw them away? Could I buy one Topgun II and use one of topgun pistols for tep players?
Are the topgun pistols compatible with topgun II?

#0508(0902) EMS TopGun is not compatible with Vista or Win7. It is a hardware matter, and is nothing to do with the driver. #0718 EMS TopGun II use the same driver and it works on Vista / Win7.
#0718 EMS TopGun II supports XP / Vista / Win7 (both 32bit and 64bit). But, please note that #0508(0902) is not compatible with #0718. You could not use one #0508(0902) and one #0718 on the same screen.
Thanks.

So, what are your recommendation fot two players with windows 7 64bits?
Can RF topgun work with two players? How long is the Topgun II cable?

#0718 EMS TopGun II is wired, but it could recoil and has a laser pointer. It's wire is around 2.8m long.
#0807 RF TopGun is wireless, but it has no recoil and no laser pointer.
So, here is a simple question : Recoil + Laser pointer ----- VS ----- Wireless
For me, I prefer the recoil and laser pointer. Cable is not a problem for me. But, if cable is really a big problem for you, #0807 RF TopGun should be your choice.
note : Their price are the same. Both of them works well on win7 64bit, even for multiple guns.

I too have recently purchased the EMS Topgun II, know my issues are that I'm wanting to runit via an xbox using a 50" Plasma TV 1) I cannot get it to calibrate correctly, when I'm playing house of dead 3 it just seems to constantly shoot at the right hand side of the screen and no where else? 2) I try to run the debug feature but I can't get it to recognise the gun? Not connecting and showing no image? Tell me, how will it pick up the image, as the bars will be connected to the xbox and TV but the gun will be connected to the Laptop (Win7) your information is quite confusing, I run the driver disc on my laptop, when I connected the gun it told me that it found the driver but when I try going through the debug instructions it will not take me to a windows wizard set up to find the EM3 files you specify. What can I do?

For this case, please visit "device manager", right click the newly recognized device, and select "install driver". The hardware installation wizard would pop up, and you could install the driver as mentioned in the user manual.

I have purchased RF Topgun, and can not make it work with MAME: pointer just does not move, and only Fire button works. Links to PDF given here inforum are dead.
Any hints how to setup MAME to work, at least with ONE RF Topgun?
Thanks!

I just received a new EMS Topgun III that I purchased from divineo.com. My main usage is in my original XBOX. I have only gotten it to calibrate on my 60" LCD projection HDTV twice. And even then, it got less accurate as you neared the edges. But games were still fairly playable. The problem appears to be large glass covered artwork I have hanging on the wall just behind the upper left and right corners of my TV. Covering the pictures with newspaper helps calibration and gun tracking. Could the reflection from glass throw off the gun? And I have a fairly large (1.5 inch) glossy black bezel that surrounds the TV (onto which I affix the LEDs). Could those interfere with the gun? If so, that's a real deal breaker, since I'm not going to put cardboard or something all around my TV just when I want to play a gun game.
And might there also a problem with rear projection LCD TV's? Could the bulb inside, or the heat it generates, be messing with the gun reading? Just to be safe, I even threw a blanket over my electronics cabinet (next to the TV) to ensure no IR from those devices was interfering. I have no IR devices plugged into the XBOX except the one used by the gun (in the first port). There is definitely a "sweet spot" 2-3 times the distance as the LEDs. My batteries in the gun are brand new. I even tried changing the channel from 1 to 2, and the red/green flashing occurs on both indicating a good wireless connection.
Now, after only several hours of usage (mostly in just trying to calibrate), the trigger stopped functioning. So now I have no choice but to return the gun. Sorry, but the quality and performance of this device seems woefully poor. And I had even disabled the "kickback" on the gun (by pressing Start+A). I can't imagine the gun would last long with it kicking all the time. Oh, and I nearly broke the gun just trying to cram the 4AA battery pack into the enclosure. And getting it back OUT was even harder, as I had to use a screwdriver to pry it out, causing the butt of the gun to temporarily separate. Ugh.

you are not alone. both of my topgun iii's triggers have broken as well... i also used it on my xbox, however i did not have any calibration issues. the gun is still useless without a working trigger though.

Great info... thanks. So did you buy from Divineo.com? Did they make you pay to ship the defective guns back to Hong Kong? I've informed them of the problem, and they said they are checking with their manufacturer... not sure how they plan on remedying the situation, but I'll post any updates. It's a shame, because the gun is definitely cool looking and when it works, it's very fun. I just don't understand why its build quality and operation are so flaky.
