May be it is because you haven't configure the MAME correctly. I am sorry that I also have no idea about this. I have tried two versions of MAME32. MAME32 117 does work MAME32 129 does not work. I am not sure how to get it to work on v129. You may download MAME32 117 here. www.hkems.com/temp/Mame32b.117.zipThanks

Hi, can someone explain how to install this driver? I have never installed a driver like this, do I put the files in a folder? If so where?

Hi
I've been trying to get the Windows 7 x64 beta to work on my Windows 7 x64 Home Premium install. I've followed the above guide to the letter, first installed the program and activated test mode, signed both the .sys files in the beta driver. Rebooted and plugged in my EMS Topgun II but unlike the guide says about it being an unknown device my device manager installs Generic USB hub drivers for it, and it's a Generic USB hub according to it.
Anyway I thought to myself no big deal I'll find it and install the driver anyway, problem is every time I try to install the driver pointing at the inf file it just says it's not compatible with my hardware or not an x64 driver. Trying to do it automatically it just says the best driver for the device is already installed. Any ideas?

by the way, I'm using a brand new hp compaq with 64 bit windows 7 home premium. I was able to install some other drivers for other old devices that are not actually windows 7 anymore, but not this one for my guns. And as said, device manager sees it as Generic USB hub.

Are you sure that your gun is #0718 EMS TopGun II ? Please note that #0508 EMS TopGun does not support vista / win7, and would be recognized as an USB hubs. Also, please make sure that the switch (X/P) at the handle is at P. If the above is not the cause of the problem, please follow the guide below to install the driver. thanks www.hkems.com/files/0807/Lightgun_64bit_Driver_Installation_Guide.pdf(10-13)

hi, to be honest i am not exactly sure, i have two of them but i don't have the boxes and manuals and disks anymore. They look the same. If it's topgun 1, is the hardware that fundamentaly different that they need other drivers then 2 ? Are you planning to release drivers for topgun 1 as well ? It don't have them very long yet (maybe 2/3 years) and it would be a bummer if i would need to buy new guns everytime microsoft comes with a new version again, which they do every 2/3 years. thanks for a reply

short remark, installation guide talks about the .sys files everytime
quote Plug TopGun (or the RF receiver) to PC, and install the driver as usual. (i.e. direct the installer to the location of hidtopgun.sys and hidmini.sys)
but windows 7 wants to be directed to a .inf file everytime for all drivers and all hardware (not only in this case) and not to .sys files
i understand that a .inf file could be the trigger for windows 7 to activate the .sys files but still.....does your windows wants you to point it to a .sys file or a .inf file ?
like einkopfschuss said above

i think/assume i should be able to install the drivers regardless if i have topgun 1 or 2 and regardless if they are plugged in or not by using "add legacy hardware" but windows does not want to hear of it because of the problems above.

The hardware ID of TopGun 1 and TopGun 2 are the same, thus they use the same drivers. But, they are different inside such that TopGun 1 could not be recognized by Vista and Win7, while TopGun 2 has no problem. If you are using TopGun 1, you should able to use the TopGun 2 64bit driver on XP 64. (it should work, but we haven't tested it yet.) For our drivers, the location of .inf files and .sys files are the same. So, there would be no difference. If you are using TopGun 2, please follow the guide below to install the driver on vista 64 or win7 64. www.hkems.com/files/0807/Lightgun_64bit_Driver_Installation_Guide.pdfIf you are using TopGun 1, it could not be recognized by vista / win7 for sure. Thanks (10-21)

I've see that there is an Atmel AT89S52 inside. Is there a way to reprogram it to be a topgun2 ?
